C is for Christmas!

At last, it’s December 1st and finally it’s acceptable to mention the ‘C’ word! Christmas is coming and I couldn’t be more excited about it!

The more I hear people complain of Christmas tunes in the shops, the more I want to blast out Mariah (my personal favourite) and whip up some mince pies!

Christmas is the best time of year, full of festive feasts, indulgent treats and plenty of merriment. However, for me, the most important part is spending quality time with my friends and family.

Yes, it truly is the most wonderful time of the year, but also one of the most stressful. With all the shopping, cooking, present wrapping and parties the holidays can sometimes feel like work, not errmm a ‘holiday’!

The question is “how do we do less and enjoy more”?

Well, guys, don’t worry! Here at The Cheshire Dining Experience we have got your back! Rolling on from the success of last year, we are again bringing Christmas dinner to you, in your own home, lovingly homemade by us, using locally sourced ingredients.

Cooking a Christmas dinner isn’t easy, so let us take all of the hard work out of it for you. You choose the menu, tell us how many people you are expecting and we will prepare everything for you and delivery to your door on Christmas Eve. With a simple set of instructions, all you need to do is reheat a few things, leaving you more time to put your feet up and enjoy the festivities.

To give you an idea of what to expect, one of our lovely customers has shared their experience with us:

“Last year we planned to have a very special family Christmas for the first time at our new house. We put a lot of time and effort into decorating the house to look magical and we wanted Christmas dinner to live up to the high standard we’d set ourselves. We both love cooking but in reality we knew that we weren’t capable of turning out a Five Star meal in amidst the excitement of 9 adults and 6 children. Not to mention the champagne that would be flowing!

The best option was to turn to The Cheshire Dining team: Andi, Steve and Tor have never disappointed.

We worked up a menu together. We wanted a very traditional dinner with all the trimmings and a few of Andi’s unique and creative twists. We also had the challenge of my vegetarian diet and children’s choices to add into the mix. It didn’t take long to agree the menu and then we could forget all about it until Christmas Eve.

I was working right up until Christmas and it was a big relief not to have to shop for the meal or find time to prepare it, when there was so much else to be done.

On Christmas Eve, Andi and Steve arrived with a complete meal from appetisers through to starters, main course, pudding and the most amazing Christmas log cake I’ve ever seen! It all came ready to for us to cook on Christmas Day, with funny and easy to follow instructions…..starting with “pour yourself a gin and tonic and enjoy the journey”.

It also gave cues for when others could join in and help. In reality there wasn’t much to do, yet we felt some ownership of the meal as we presented each course.

We enjoyed it over several hours, accompanied by some fine wine. I can say without hesitation that it was the finest Christmas Dinner I’ve ever “prepared” and certainly enjoyed eating.

This year we’ll be in Australia for Christmas but will be asking The Cheshire Dining team to do another special preparation for a Christmas dinner a couple of weeks early, so that we don’t miss out!”
